1. This is not an official TriMet application

Signal HOS is an independent tool built by and for signal department employees to help track Hours of Service records. It is not endorsed, operated, or officially sanctioned by TriMet in any capacity.

Using this app is entirely voluntary and at your own discretion. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your actual HOS compliance meets TriMet policy and applicable FRA regulations (49 CFR Part 228), regardless of anything recorded in this app.

2. Your information is private and is not shared

Information you enter — including your name, badge number, email address, and HOS records — is used only to run this app for you. It is not sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party, including TriMet, its management, or any outside organization.

3. Your personal information is encrypted

We take your privacy seriously. All identifying information stored in the database — your email address, name, and badge number — is encrypted using AES-256 encryption before it is saved. Your password is never stored; only a one-way cryptographic hash is kept. No one with access to the database can read your personal details in plain text.

4. Do not use your TriMet company email

This app will not accept, store, or send email to any @trimet.org address. You must sign up and receive emails using a personal email address. This protects you from any appearance that official company email systems are connected to this unofficial tool.

5. Use is at your own responsibility

Signal HOS is provided as-is, without any warranty. We do our best to keep it accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee it will always be correct, complete, or accessible. Do not rely on this app as your sole source of truth for regulatory compliance.

If you have concerns about your HOS records or compliance, speak directly with your supervisor or TriMet's official recordkeeping process.

6. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
